Gremlins

Gremlins (1984) PG

Directed by Joe Dante

Starring:  Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Polly Holliday, and Frances Lee McCain

Here We Go:  Is there really anyone left that has not seen Gremlins?  If so, and you are over 18, we're revoking your citizenship.  Gremlins is an American cultural icon and while it may not be Oscar quality, its a piece of modern film history that everyone should enjoy.  Its PG rating makes is fun for the whole family; although those with little ones may want to stay away due to some particularly gruesome scenes (to those 10 and under) and references to Santa Clause not being real.  You cannot watch Gremlins and walk away not wanting a Mogwai and finding the devilish shenanigans of the Gremlins to be hysterical.  The acting might be subpar, and even bad at times, and the special effects unimpressive (even for 1984) but Mogwais and Gremlins are good clean entertainment regardless of the decade.

Bottom Line:  The time to pay for this movie has long since come and gone but it never gets old and is always worth the rental when nothing else can be found.
